1. Select the correct shading rate
Different crops and growth stages require different light transmittance. Leafy vegetables and seedlings usually need a shading rate of 50%–70%, while fruits and flowering crops are suitable for 30%–50% shading. Excessively high shading will lead to weak seedling growth and reduced yield, while insufficient shading cannot achieve sun protection and cooling effects. It is necessary to select a matching
shade net according to local climate and crop types.
2. Standard installation and tensioning
The shade net should be fixed firmly on the greenhouse bracket or field support frame with proper tension. Avoid loose laying, which may cause sagging, wind fluttering and abrasion. Keep a certain gap between the net and crop canopy instead of direct covering, which helps air circulation, reduces high temperature and humidity inside, and effectively prevents crop diseases.
3. Flexible covering according to weather
Shade nets are only for high-temperature and strong sunlight periods. It is recommended to cover the net at noon on hot sunny days and uncover it in the morning, evening and on cloudy and rainy days. Long-term full coverage will cause insufficient light, poor crop photosynthesis and leggy growth. In rainy seasons, timely check and clean the net surface to avoid water accumulation causing net deformation or damage.
4. Regular maintenance and cleaning
Regularly check the shade net for wire breakage, cracking and loose joints. Remove surface dust, fallen leaves and sundries regularly to keep the net surface transparent and breathable. Avoid sharp objects scratching or cutting the net during installation and daily management. After the planting season, take down the net in time, clean and dry it, then store it in a dry and ventilated place to avoid mildew and aging.
5. Prohibit improper use
Agricultural shade nets are specially designed for agricultural shading and cooling. They cannot be used for heavy-load bearing, sunshade for high-risk construction sites or other non-agricultural scenarios. Do not expose the net to open fire or high-temperature heat sources to prevent aging damage and potential safety hazards.
Standard use and scientific maintenance can greatly improve the utilization rate of agricultural shade nets, stabilize crop growth environment, reduce planting losses, and bring better economic benefits for agricultural planting.
